More Monsoon Spells Predicted for September

Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Irfan Virk, said on Thursday that the country is likely to experience three to four additional monsoon spells in September, reported 24NewsHD TV.

Speaking to the channel, he noted that above-average rainfall is forecast in north-eastern Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, and southern Kashmir during the month.

He added that south-eastern Sindh is also expected to receive heavier-than-usual rains, while the rest of the country will likely witness normal precipitation levels.

Virk clarified that no fresh system is expected in the northern areas over the next few days. However, he said a monsoon low is projected to enter Sindh in the coming three to four days, bringing widespread showers across the province.
