The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced an extension in registration for private Hajj scheme pilgrims who were unable to perform the pilgrimage last year. The move comes as an additional opportunity for those who missed out due to last year’s circumstances, including floods.
According to ministry sources, registration is currently open on the Hajj portal. Initially, the deadline for private scheme pilgrims was set for September 8, but the period has now been extended.
So far, around 21,000 pilgrims have completed their registration. Officials urged last year’s left-out applicants to take advantage of what they termed the final opportunity.
The ministry clarified that private Hajj operators will be allowed to accept new applications under the leftover quota. Pilgrims who had already deposited their money last year can perform Hajj without any additional charges. However, those who withdrew their deposited amount earlier will have to submit fresh applications.
