Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday approved the launch of a rail car project aimed at connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi, terming it a public welfare initiative that will ease transport for residents of the twin cities and adjoining areas.
The announcement came during the groundbreaking ceremony of the T-Chowk Flyover, where the prime minister directed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi to immediately begin work on the project.
Shehbaz Sharif said the railway track required for the service was already available, which would allow the scheme to be implemented quickly. He added that, once operational, the project would not only improve daily commuting but also serve tourists visiting the region.
The premier assured full federal government support for the venture.
Earlier, the prime minister inaugurated the Rs. 1.4 billion T-Chowk Flyover project at the intersection of Islamabad Expressway and G.T. Road. The flyover, expected to be completed in 150 days, is designed to improve traffic flow for residents of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and nearby localities.

Pakistan is having so many motorways,
either completed or under construction.National Highway Authority
Should take care of Grand Trunk Road also.
I agreed with Mr Zafar Iqbal condition of G.T.Road is very worst.
Massive commission will be made through these projects . Latest figures of external debt of Pakistan is at $282 billion in just 3 years.

Or hare expert from China, Europe, Mylishia, Turkey, plz.
An under ground metro train should be there for twincities like Dehli .
Due to heavy rains and flooding in recent decade, underground railway may not be better option in twin cities
Please add RailCar facilities to Margla Railways station with small board in and board off point at G13/1 where there is ample space available near Service road and Kashmir Highway ways. People of Islamabad would love it.
