Pakistan to Host SCO Summit in 2027

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday that Pakistan will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in 2027, calling for early preparations to ensure the event’s success.

The prime minister highlighted ongoing development and environmental initiatives, noting that efforts are underway to further enhance Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.

He said that electric vehicle (EV) transport has also been introduced as part of broader measures to protect the environment.

Sharif stressed that the federal government is committed to improving travel facilities for the public, with plans aimed at making the capital city more attractive and modern.

He also pointed to key infrastructure projects, particularly the T-Chowk Flyover, which he described as a milestone for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and nearby areas. The one-kilometer structure, he said, will ease access to the Expressway and improve connectivity for surrounding localities.
