Good News Announced for Passport Applicants

In a major development, the backlog of passport applications has been reduced to zero in Pakistan and worldwide, officials confirmed on Thursday.

According to details, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain, visited the Passport Headquarters, where he reviewed various sections and examined the passport production process.

Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, briefed the High Commissioner on the state-of-the-art facilities being used in passport production. He highlighted advanced lamination techniques, enhanced security features, and user-friendly online services introduced for overseas Pakistanis.

The DG Passports further announced that the department has successfully brought the global passport backlog down to zero — a milestone achievement for the authority.

The Bangladeshi envoy praised the technological advancements and administrative reforms, particularly those aimed at facilitating overseas citizens. He also expressed keen interest in the use of artificial intelligence within the passport production system.

Commending the progress, the High Commissioner said that eliminating the backlog within such a short timeframe is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects Pakistan’s adoption of modern governance and digital solutions.
