The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has initiated a special campaign from September 17 to 26 to assist government employees in obtaining valid driving licenses.
An ITP official stated that during this period, all government employees will receive full support and services at traffic offices and through mobile facilitation vans.
After September 26, any government employee driving without a valid license will face strict legal action without exception.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, revealed that recent operations against illegal parking in Secretariat Blocks uncovered that a significant number of government employees did not possess valid licenses for their vehicles or motorcycles.
He emphasized, “As government employees, accountability must begin with ourselves before we enforce the law on the public. ITP offices and all related resources will provide maximum assistance for license issuance until September 26.”
The CTO warned that after the campaign ends, no government employee, regardless of rank or department, will be exempt from penalties. Violators may face vehicle impoundment and departmental proceedings. He urged all departments and officers to ensure that licenses are obtained promptly to avoid legal and administrative consequences.
