Pakistan made history by winning the inaugural Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship held in the Maldives. The national team delivered a flawless performance throughout the tournament, finishing with an undefeated record of seven wins and no losses.
In the final, Pakistan sealed their dominance with a commanding 2–0 victory over Sri Lanka, winning 26–18 and 28–18. It was a fitting end to a campaign that showcased their tactical brilliance and seamless teamwork.
Their journey to the title began with a stunning 2–0 win over arch-rivals India, where Pakistan overwhelmed their opponents with scores of 26–9 and 34–12. That opening triumph set the tone for the rest of the tournament. The team continued its winning streak by defeating Sri Lanka, Maldives, South Africa, and Bangladesh in the group stage. In the semi-final, they faced Bangladesh once again and cruised to another 2–0 win to book their place in the final.
Among the standout performers was Kashif Ali, whose all-round skills and scoring prowess proved vital, especially in the nail-biting 2–1 win against hosts Maldives. Muhammad Shahid Bashir and Ahmed Hassan Baig also played pivotal roles, offering consistent leadership and strategic depth throughout the championship.
The hosts, Maldives, finished second after defeating Bangladesh in the third-place match.
