The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has decided to extend electricity bill deadlines to provide relief to customers affected by recent rains and flood-like conditions.
According to LESCO officials, extensions will be granted in batches to serve consumers in the most impacted areas better. Under company rules, customers are entitled to receive up to two extensions on their due date.
- First extension: Bill payment deadlines are initially pushed to September 25.
- Second extension: If payment is still pending, a further extension will be available until September 29.
Late fees will apply after the due date:
- A 5% surcharge will be added if payment isn’t made by the first extended date.
- A 10% surcharge will be charged on payments made after September 19.
The policy also covers tube-well connections, so agricultural users receive the same relief.
LESCO says the move aims to help customers manage payments on time despite financial and logistical challenges caused by the adverse weather.
