Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has announced that the Traffic Police Office at Faizabad will now remain open 24 hours a day to facilitate citizens seeking driving licenses and other services.
According to an official statement, the decision was made during a late-night meeting chaired by the IGP to review public service delivery. He directed senior officers to streamline the licensing process and expand facilities at Police Khidmat Markaz centres.
Operating hours at existing Khidmat Markaz have also been extended from 6 PM to 9 PM, while new counters are being set up to reduce waiting times. Driving license services are currently available at 11 Police Khidmat Markaz across Islamabad, and authorities plan to eventually extend traffic-related services to all police stations.
The IGP advised citizens to obtain their driving licenses before October 1, warning that driving without a valid license after this deadline would lead to FIR registration, arrests, and vehicle impoundment. Public awareness campaigns have been launched by the Islamabad Traffic Police to inform residents about the new measures.
