Sindh Upgrades Thousands of Primary Schools

The Sindh Education Department has issued a notification confirming the upgradation of 2,000 primary schools across the province.

Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah said that the move aims to improve access to education beyond the fifth grade, allowing students to continue their studies within their local areas instead of traveling long distances.

According to the details, 496 schools in Hyderabad division, 406 in Shaheed Benazirabad, 244 in Mirpurkhas, 341 in Sukkur, 490 in Larkana, and 56 in Karachi have been upgraded.

The minister added that this initiative is part of a broader plan to establish 10,000 upgraded primary and elementary schools in phases. In the first stage, 2,000 schools have been elevated, with more to follow in the next phases.

He also announced that headmasters have been given financial authority to utilize funds directly, which is expected to help resolve day-to-day school management issues more effectively.
