12 Exotic Wild Animals Arrive at Lahore Zoo

The Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department has placed 12 newly imported giraffes from South Africa in quarantine at the Lahore Zoo Safari.

According to officials, the animals arrived on September 9 and will remain in quarantine until October 5, as part of the department’s standard procedure for imported wildlife. The quarantine ensures the animals are properly monitored before being moved to their permanent enclosures.

Officials said the giraffes have already become a major attraction for both children and adults. Once the quarantine period ends, three giraffes will be transferred to the Lahore Zoo on The Mall, while the remaining nine will stay at the Zoo Safari.

Additional Chief Wildlife Ranger Mudassar Hassan confirmed that the transfer to the Lahore Zoo will be carried out under the supervision of wildlife experts to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals.
