Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a series of major development projects for the hill station Murree, with a special focus on modern public transport.
Addressing a ceremony in Murree, she confirmed that a Green Line bus service will be launched with 15 buses, while students, senior citizens, and women will be able to travel free of cost.
She added that a train service for Murree is also in the pipeline to reduce the burden of private vehicles entering the city, making travel easier for tourists.
“These initiatives will provide safe, affordable and eco-friendly travel options for the people of Murree and visitors from across the country,” she said.
Alongside transport upgrades, Maryam Nawaz announced the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre, which has already started angiography procedures and will soon begin cardiac surgeries.
She also announced plans for a new hospital in Bhurban, improvements in schools, a large water supply project, and sanitation schemes to improve local infrastructure.
The Chief Minister said Murree has been given a separate district administration with dedicated police, health, and education departments.
She also revealed that a dedicated tourism force has been established, with the aim of turning Murree into a world-class tourist destination.
