Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has secured a major development for employees of the federal health sector as Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has agreed in principle to restore the long-pending health risk allowance, which had been frozen since 2014.
According to the spokesperson for the Health Minister, Mustafa Kamal, along with Federal Secretary for Health Hamid Yaqoob, met the Finance Minister, where they held extensive discussions on the long-standing demands of federal hospital employees.
Following the meeting, the Finance Minister expressed his agreement with the proposal, with the Ministry of Finance now set to forward a formal summary to the Prime Minister for final approval.
The Health Ministry clarified that once the Prime Minister signs off, the allowance will officially be reinstated for staff across federal hospitals nationwide.
