Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) announced that 134 public sector employees were taken into custody in September as part of its ongoing campaign against corruption. Officials confirmed that some of the detainees were later released on bail pending further proceedings.
According to Nazaha, the arrests followed investigations involving 387 individuals accused of various corruption-related offenses. Throughout the month, the authority carried out 2,662 inspections across different regions of the Kingdom.
Those arrested were employed in several major ministries, including Interior, National Guard, Defense, Municipalities and Housing, Education, Health, Justice, and Hajj and Umrah. Authorities stated that both criminal and administrative cases have been initiated, with charges ranging from bribery to misuse of authority.
