Emirati Woman to Make History at Miss Universe 2025 Representing UAE

Mariam Mohamed, a 26-year-old fashion student, has been selected to represent the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Thailand next month. She will make history as the first Emirati woman to compete on the global Miss Universe stage.

Chosen through a highly competitive selection process, Mariam expressed pride in representing her country. “The UAE has given me the confidence to dream big,” she said. “I want to be a voice for ambitious, curious, and driven women. Miss Universe UAE is not just about beauty — it’s about impact.”

Mariam holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Sydney and is currently studying fashion design at ESMOD Dubai. Combining education, creativity, and advocacy, she said her ultimate goal is to “reduce global poverty and empower women.”

Beyond academics, Mariam has been involved in several humanitarian and cultural initiatives, including Ramadan Aman and The Giving Family Initiative. She has also represented the UAE in international women’s entrepreneurship programs and promotes sustainable fashion.

Blending heritage with modernity, Mariam’s interests range from falconry and camel riding to eco-conscious design and global cultural exchange. She aims to showcase the UAE’s values of innovation, sustainability, and empowerment on the world stage.

As she prepares for Miss Universe 2025, Mariam hopes to inspire a new generation of Emirati women to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

She is only the second contestant to hold the title of Miss Universe UAE. Last year, Emilia Dobreva — a Kosovo-born model and long-time Dubai resident — represented the country at the international competition.

According to Miss Universe UAE, Mariam will “showcase the UAE’s story of empowerment, sustainability, and innovation to a global audience, proving that Emirati women are not only rooted in tradition but are also leaders of tomorrow.”
