The number of accidents involving the newly-launched Electro bus service in Faisalabad continues to rise, with three more buses damaged, bringing the total number of affected vehicles to seven in just one week.

According to reports, the latest incidents occurred at Ghanta Ghar Chowk, where a rickshaw collided with an Electro bus, shattering the side door near the women’s seating area.

In another case, the rear screen of a bus broke while it was being reversed. A third bus suffered minor damage after being hit by a motorcycle rickshaw on Jhang Road.

Sources said that due to poor management and lack of supervision, several buses have had their doors, lights, and glass panels broken within seven days of service.

However, Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Rashid Ali denied the claim of negligence, stating that some buses were already damaged during shipment.

He added that all drivers and staff are qualified and experienced, but three drivers have been dismissed after being found responsible for mishandling vehicles. Further action, he said, is being taken.
