Pakistan Railways to Start Shuttle Train Between 3 Major Punjab Districts

Pakistan Railways is planning to introduce a new shuttle train service linking Lahore, Kasur, and Pakpattan in a bid to improve regional connectivity and enhance passenger transport options.

A feasibility report for the proposed Lahore–Kasur–Pakpattan shuttle service has been completed and submitted to the railway administration for approval.

The report includes detailed assessments of the route’s technical and financial aspects, such as track conditions, expected passenger flow, and maintenance costs.

Once approved, the short-distance train will operate between Lahore and Pakpattan via Kasur, offering an affordable and reliable travel option for commuters, students, and traders. The new service aims to ease road congestion, reduce fuel costs, and revive smaller railway stations along the route.
