How to Apply for Punjab Ration Card Program

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a Ration Card Scheme aimed at supporting low-income households across the province. Under this initiative, eligible citizens will receive Rs. 3,000 per month through a digital smart card to purchase essential food items.

The digital smart card can be used at authorized grocery shops and utility stores to buy necessities. The program is designed to help families struggling with inflation, and 150,000 ration cards will be distributed in the first phase.

According to the government, this initiative empowers deserving families by providing monthly financial assistance through a modern and transparent digital system—allowing them to purchase food without relying on loans or external aid.

Ensuring Transparency and Efficiency

The Punjab Ration Card ensures that financial support reaches the rightful beneficiaries effectively and transparently. Payments will be made directly to deserving families, minimizing chances of misuse or corruption.

In the initial phase, the scheme targets industrial and daily wage workers, allowing them to buy essential groceries from registered shops and utility stores.

Eligibility Criteria for the CM Ration Card

The scheme is open only to residents of Punjab, and eligibility is based on household income, employment, and housing status to ensure that assistance is provided exclusively to deserving families.

To apply, households must be registered in the Punjab Social and Economic Registry (PSER) and possess a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) linked with an active mobile number.

Eligibility requirements include:

• Monthly household income of less than Rs. 50,000.
• PMT (Poverty Means Test) score below 35.
• Not employed in any government position.
• Not already benefiting from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
• Only one applicant per household (either male or female).
• Non-tax filers and those without property ownership are eligible.

Applicants can register online via the Punjab Social and Economic Registry (PSER) portal, or visit their local Union Council office or the nearest e-Khidmat Center for assistance.
