The largest cargo ship in Pakistan’s shipping history is set to arrive at Karachi Port on Sunday afternoon.
The MSC MICOL, a 400-meter-long container vessel, will dock at the South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT) at 2:30 PM. With a capacity of 24,070 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), it is the biggest ship ever to berth at a Pakistani port.
Built in 2023 and currently sailing under the flag of Liberia, the MSC MICOL (IMO 9931290, MMSI 636023098) represents a significant milestone for Pakistan’s maritime sector.
Officials hope that the ship’s arrival will help boost global trade connectivity and highlight Pakistan’s growing capacity to handle mega vessels.
