Gold prices in Pakistan surged to a new all-time high on Tuesday, mirroring gains in the international market.
In the local market, the price of gold per tola reached Rs. 435,100 after a sharp increase of Rs. 6,900 during the day.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10-gram gold was recorded at Rs. 373,028, up by Rs. 5,916.
On Monday, gold prices had already set a record, with the per tola rate climbing to Rs. 428,200 after a rise of Rs. 5,500.
Internationally, gold prices also soared, breaking through the $4,100 per ounce mark for the first time. The rate stood at $4,140 per ounce (including a $20 premium), reflecting a gain of $69, as per APGJSA. The rally was fueled by renewed US-China trade tensions and expectations of US interest rate cuts.
Meanwhile, silver prices in the local market remained unchanged at Rs. 5,247 per tola, even as silver also hit an all-time high internationally.
