Pakistani IT Professional Wins Global Hackathon by Developing AI Job Finder Tool

Pakistani IT professional Mirza Abdullah Tariq has won the Trae AI IDE: Zero Limits Hackathon through his innovative AI-powered job recommender tool called Access Jobs. Tariq achieved first place in the competition against 879 teams worldwide.

Hailing from Gujrat, Pakistan, Tariq and his international Pathfinders Team built Access Jobs within just 48 hours. This win brought home $3,000 in prize money. The team includes Aaryab Panta from Nepal, Hammad Zaheer from Pakistan, and Monching Desierto from the Philippines.

Access Jobs

Access Jobs is a straightforward platform that connects job seekers with the right opportunities using “advanced machine learning and explainable AI”, according to Tariq’s LinkedIn post.

The Access Jobs portal will let you build a detailed profile with your personal information, experience, education, and career preferences, including your expected salary details and more. Once you’re done, the portal will recommend jobs based on your profile and let you track your job applications, interviews, and provide a skills analysis as well. Access Jobs will also have a separate profile for employers to help them seek the right talent.

Technical Details and Launch

The platform’s frontend was built using React 18, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, while the backend is built with Django, Django Rest Framework, and Python. The AI and machine learning tools working in the background are Novita AI API for resume parsing, alongside custom recommendation algorithms.

The project is still in its demo phase and will see a full launch as soon as it receives more backing.
