Lahore is ranked as the most polluted city in the world today, according to the latest data by IQ Air.
With an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 270, the air is classified as “very unhealthy,” posing serious health risks to everyone.
Delhi follows with an AQI of 211, also in the “very unhealthy” category. Kolkata comes in third with an AQI of 198.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan, ranks fourth with an AQI of 185, while Dhaka, Bangladesh, is in fifth place with an AQI of 179.
Hanoi, Vietnam, holds the sixth spot with an AQI of 163. Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, follows closely in seventh with an AQI of 152.
Jakarta, Indonesia, is eighth on the list with an AQI of 149. Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, comes in ninth with an AQI of 140. Baghdad, Iraq, rounds out the top ten with an AQI of 139.
Lahore’s extremely high AQI highlights a pressing issue. Air pollution is a growing problem in many cities worldwide, and immediate action is needed to protect residents’ health.
