Islamabad Traffic Police Issues 10-Day Traffic Plan

The Islamabad Traffic Police has issued an advisory and details of alternate traffic routes during the ongoing cricket matches between Pakistan and South Africa.

According to officials, around 310 traffic officers have been deployed along major routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience for commuters while the teams travel to and from the stadium.

To facilitate the public, the ITP has advised the following alternative routes:

  • Motorists traveling from Margalla Road to Khanna should take Faisal Avenue via Blue Area, Club Road, and Lehtrar Road.
  • Those heading toward Sectors G-9, G-10, G-11, and Tarnol are advised to use Faisal Avenue via F-10 Road.
  • Travelers coming from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad should take the Srinagar Highway via Peshawar Morr.
  • Drivers using IJP Road to enter Islamabad should opt for Sabzi Mandi Road instead.

Traffic officers are stationed on service roads to guide motorists and maintain a steady traffic flow. The ITP has cautioned that traffic congestion may occur on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway during office and school rush hours. Citizens are advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and remain patient.

Real-time traffic updates are being shared through Islamabad Police’s social media channels and FM Radio 92.4. For emergencies, citizens can contact Pukar-15 or the Traffic Helpline at 1915.
