Parliamentary Secretary for Science and Technology Dr. Nikhat Shakeel has fallen victim to hackers after her WhatsApp account was compromised. The incident has raised concerns among fellow members of parliament about increasing cyber threats targeting public representatives.
According to details, hackers gained access to Dr. Nikhat Shakeel’s WhatsApp account and began sending messages to her contacts, demanding money. Following the breach, the parliamentary secretary lodged a formal complaint with the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA), seeking assistance in recovering her account.
Despite more than a day passing since the account was hacked, Dr. Nikhat Shakeel stated that her WhatsApp access had not yet been restored. She revealed that hackers were sending fake messages to her close associates, impersonating her and seeking financial help from various phone numbers.
Dr. Nikhat Shakeel urged citizens not to trust any messages received in her name and called upon the NCCIA and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take immediate action against the perpetrators. She said she would also file a formal complaint with the FIA to ensure strict action against those responsible.
