Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal announced that the long-standing issue of out-of-syllabus questions in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) has been resolved, removing a major hurdle for aspiring medical students across Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, the minister said that after consultations with vice chancellors from all four provinces, a uniform question paper has been finalized for the national medical entrance exam.
He stated that a question bank of 3,000 questions has been created, from which each province will receive three separate question papers, allowing them to select any one for the exam.
“The controversy over out-of-syllabus questions has finally ended,” Kamal said. “This step will ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all students.”
The minister clarified that the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is responsible for preparing the syllabus and question bank, while provincial authorities will be accountable if any paper leak occurs.
According to official data, the MDCAT 2025 is scheduled for October 26, with 140,125 candidates registered to appear. A total of 35 examination centers have been set up across the country, along with one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
