WAPDA Announces Paid Internships for Fresh Graduates

The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has announced a paid internship program offering young graduates across Pakistan an opportunity to gain professional experience in one of the country’s most prestigious public sector organizations.

The initiative aims to provide hands-on learning and workplace exposure for fresh graduates eager to develop professional ethics, workplace discipline, and technical expertise under the supervision of experienced professionals. The internship will last for eight weeks (two months), and each selected intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000.

Available Disciplines and Vacancies

A total of 50 internship seats have been announced under the program, distributed as follows:

  • Electrical/Electronic & Mechanical Engineering – 16 seats
  • Civil Engineering – 14 seats
  • Geological Engineering – 5 seats
  • Computer Sciences / Information Technology – 3 seats
  • Finance & Accounting – 5 seats
  • Human Resource Management – 5 seats
  • Mass Communications – 2 seats

Eligibility Criteria

The internship is open to fresh or recent graduates (within the last three years) with a minimum CGPA of 2.8. Applicants must be 26 years of age or younger at the time of application. Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply.

Seat Allocation

The seats are divided under open quota (40%) and provincial quota (60%), with the following distribution:

  • Punjab – 6 seats
  • Sindh – 6 seats
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 6 seats
  • Gilgit Baltistan – 3 seats
  • Balochistan – 3 seats
  • Azad Kashmir – 3 seats
  • Ex-FATA – 3 seats

Documents Required

Applicants are required to upload the following documents:

  • All academic/educational certificates
  • CNIC copy
  • Domicile copy
  • Updated CV
  • Two recent passport-size photos
  • Police verification form (for engineering disciplines only)

Application Process and Deadline

Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements can apply online through the WAPDA official website under the career section.

The last date to submit applications is October 27, 2025. Applications sent by hand will not be accepted.

Important Instructions

  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee employment.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews, and no TA/DA will be provided.
  • Applicants must have a valid bank account in their name.
  • Original documents must be presented during the interview.
  • Incomplete or incorrect applications, or those submitted after the deadline, will be rejected.
  • WAPDA reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process at any stage without notice.
