Punjab Introduces Mobile Police Stations

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated Punjab’s first-ever Mobile Police Station and Licensing Unit initiative, aimed at bringing policing and licensing services directly to citizens, especially those living in remote areas.

The newly launched mobile units will provide multiple services, including registration of FIRs, issuance, and renewal of learner, regular, and international driving licenses. Special services for women, such as on-site license issuance and renewal, will also be available through these mobile units.

In addition to law enforcement and licensing tasks, the units will extend support to girls’ educational institutions and workplaces to ensure women have easier access to essential government services.

During the launch ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz inspected one of the mobile police stations and handed over its keys to the assigned officers. She instructed the staff to treat citizens with respect and empathy, emphasizing that public service must remain their top priority.

Officials briefed the chief minister that 33 mobile police stations and licensing units will soon be operational across multiple districts in Punjab. Moreover, seven “Pink Mobile Police Stations,” staffed entirely by women, will also be launched to create a safer and more comfortable environment for female citizens.

The provincial government will soon announce the official deployment schedule of these mobile units across different regions.

Highlighting the project’s significance, Maryam Nawaz stated that the initiative represents a major step toward modern, inclusive, and citizen-friendly policing in Punjab, ensuring that public safety and services reach every corner of the province.
