The Food Authority Rawalpindi seized a warehouse storing hazardous used cooking oil during an early morning raid, 24NewsHD reported on Friday.
According to the spokesperson, the raid followed a long investigation and intelligence-based surveillance. Officials recovered nearly 500 litres of used oil from the site and destroyed it on the spot.
The warehouse had been secretly set up near Safdarabad Nala Lai. The seized oil was being repackaged in boxes of a well-known brand and was allegedly intended for supply to large snacks and frying units.
Authorities registered a case at the police station and arrested one suspect from the scene. However, no record or documentation of the recovered oil was found.
