A woman in Mirpur Khas was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a police station while filing a complaint. Following immediate action by the authorities, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mehran Police Station has been suspended.
According to reports, SSP Mirpur Khas ordered swift disciplinary measures, suspending the SHO and initiating a formal inquiry into the incident.
A police spokesperson said the woman had visited Mehran Police Station to file a complaint regarding her missing daughter. In her written application, the woman accused the SHO of sexually assaulting her inside the station.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) immediately directed the SSP Mirpur Khas to conduct a comprehensive investigation. Acting on those orders, SSP Sameer Noor Channa suspended SHO Khadim Talpur and formed an inquiry committee.
The police spokesperson further confirmed that medical samples of both the woman and the SHO have been sent for forensic testing. Once the medical reports are received, further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
