Cellphones, cash, and equipment belonging to police officials were stolen from barracks inside the Diplomatic Enclave and other areas of Islamabad, including G-9/2 and G-6.
Safe City Equipment Stolen in G-9/2
Thieves stole the Islamabad Safe City Authority’s equipment from Street No. 11, G-9/2, roughly 1.5 kilometres from the Karachi Company Police Station.
The theft came to light when a Safe City technician visited the area for routine maintenance and found the lock of a pole broken. Upon inspection, he discovered that a battery worth Rs. 35,000 had been stolen. Authorities believe the incident may have occurred overnight.
A case has been registered, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the suspects.
Police Officers Robbed Inside Diplomatic Enclave
Mobile phones and cash belonging to nine police officers were stolen from the Special Protection Unit (SPU) barracks located inside the heavily guarded Diplomatic Enclave in the Red Zone.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Secretariat Police Station under Section 380 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of Mohammad Usman.
According to the police, unknown thieves entered the barracks and stole several mobile phones and cash, including:
- Tecno Spark 10-C – Rs. 15,000
- Samsung A-14 – Rs. 20,000
- Vivo Y-55 – Rs. 25,000
- Vivo V-2043 – Rs. 20,000
- Another Vivo phone – Rs. 30,000
- Vivo (unspecified model) – Rs. 20,000
- Cash – Rs. 26,000
The stolen items belonged to police officials identified as Mohammad Hayat, Mohammad Husnain, Azmat Khan, Naseer Ullah, Rozi Khan, Shafi Ullah, Imdad Ullah, Nasir, and Mohammad Usman.
Authorities are investigating how the burglars managed to enter a restricted and high-security area without detection.
Burglary Reported in Police Block, G-6
In a separate incident, burglars broke into a police block apartment in CDA Flats, G-6/1-6, stealing household items and a police uniform.
The victim, Syed Hamza Ali, filed a complaint at the Aabpara Police Station. He told police that when he returned home, he found the locks of his flat broken. He immediately reported the incident through the police helpline.
Police teams, including female officers, reached the scene and discovered an unidentified woman inside the flat. However, she managed to escape before being apprehended.
Ali later found that several items were missing, including a police uniform belonging to his late father, a laptop, a washing machine, a water dispenser, a fan, and a gas cylinder.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched investigations into all three incidents. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scenes, while authorities are also reviewing footage from Safe City cameras across the affected zones.
