The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat has reiterated that ensuring the safety and well-being of UAE pilgrims remains a top national priority. The Authority urged all Hajj participants to follow the latest health, awareness, and safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities to perform their rituals in a secure and healthy environment.
Strict Health Rules for Hajj 2026
According to the Authority, Saudi Arabia has released updated health and immunization requirements for all individuals arriving for Hajj or seasonal work during the 1447H / 2026 pilgrimage season. Pilgrims must now submit a health declaration confirming they are free from diseases that could prevent them from completing Hajj rituals.
Conditions that disqualify participation include organ failure, neurological or psychological disorders affecting cognition, advanced dementia, late-stage pregnancy, and contagious diseases such as pulmonary tuberculosis, hemorrhagic fevers, or active cancers undergoing treatment.
Mandatory Vaccinations for Pilgrims
For the upcoming Hajj season, all UAE pilgrims must receive the meningococcal and seasonal influenza vaccines well before their departure. Authorities also recommend additional immunizations, including COVID-19 and other vaccines, based on individual health assessments.
The General Authority stated it will coordinate with the UAE health authorities to review pilgrims’ medical reports, ensuring full compliance with these health standards.
Over 72,000 Hajj Applications Received
By October 9, 2025, the Authority had received approximately 72,000 applications through its official website and smart app for the Hajj 1447H / 2026 season. Screening and preliminary approval processes are already underway.
The selection procedure follows Cabinet Resolution No. 32 of 2018 regarding Hajj and Umrah regulations. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allocated 6,228 pilgrimage slots for UAE citizens this year.
Applicants who receive preliminary approval will be notified through their registered contact numbers. Those selected must complete the required steps within specified deadlines to obtain their official Hajj permits on time.
