The Punjab government has approved a monthly stipend package worth Rs 4.217 billion for college teaching interns across the province. This new initiative will benefit more than 8,000 interns working in Punjab’s colleges.
Under the program, interns at the intermediate level will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 55,000, while BS-level interns will get Rs 65,000 per month.
The internship duration is set at seven months for intermediate-level interns and ten months for BS-level interns. After completing their term, all college teaching interns will receive an experience certificate.
The government has also reserved special quotas in the program: 404 seats for minorities, 243 for persons with disabilities, and 40 for the transgender community. The total allocated funds of Rs 4.217 billion will cover stipends and other related expenses.
This move aims to support young educators, promote inclusivity, and strengthen the education sector in Punjab.
