Japan’s Suntory Beverage & Food Limited has launched Tokusui, a water that claims to burn fat.
Tokusui is available in 600ml plastic bottles, priced at 150 yen (approximately Rs. 273) before tax.
According to Dr. Mariko Saito, a physician and medical researcher at Tokusi, modern lifestyles marked by sedentary work and unbalanced diets have increased visceral fat risks for both men and women.
Studies show that about 20% of women and 60% of men exceed the standard waistline linked to visceral fat accumulation.
Tokusui targets this health concern by offering a convenient, calorie-free way to support fat metabolism.
It contains quercetin glycosides, compounds known to activate enzymes that help break down and burn fat through daily physical activity.
Suntory hopes this innovation will give consumers an easy way to stay healthy while simply drinking water.
The company recommends drinking 500ml per day and emphasizes that Tokusui is meant to support — not replace — a balanced diet and active lifestyle.
