Traffic Fines and New Rules Announced for Motorcyclists in Rawalpindi

Following the launch of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s (PSCA) e-challan system in Rawalpindi, authorities have issued a detailed list of new traffic rules and fines for motorcyclists to ensure compliance and improve road safety.

According to PSCA officials, bikers must ensure both front and rear indicators are functional, and wearing a helmet is mandatory while riding. Non-standard or tampered number plates will lead to strict penalties, while plates must match the official excise-issued design and remain clearly visible at all times.

Riding in fast-track lanes, using fake or obscured number plates to evade e-challans, or driving without a valid license or CNIC will result in heavy fines or legal action.

The fine structure for bikers includes Rs. 1,500 for riding without a helmet, Rs. 2,000 for non-standard number plates, and Rs. 2,000 plus an FIR for tampering with a number plate. Riding without a valid license or CNIC will also lead to an FIR.

Car owners have been warned as well. Over-speeding, rash driving, wrong parking, entering from the wrong side, or driving vehicles with tinted windows and illegal number plates will result in challans and potential legal proceedings.

Officials stated that the e-challan system aims to promote responsible driving behavior and assist law enforcement in maintaining public safety. The PSCA has urged all motorists to adhere strictly to traffic laws to avoid penalties and contribute to a disciplined traffic culture in Rawalpindi.

  • Cars drivers are as worse as motorcycles. Rawalpindi car drivers start sleeping on the signals, they don’t know when to switch lanes, turn on indicators when. Almost reach the turn and than all the blame goes to motorcyclists. And by the way govt is not concern with public safety but generating money

    • Agree to disagree. Money generation comes as a by product, but wearing helmet, having indicators and not riding on fast lane is definitely a safety measure FYI. Car drivers are irresponsible but still face penalties of all sorts. Bikers however evade from these at all times.

      • only a few roads in Rawalpindi have such ideal conditions
echalan is introduced to make lives of normal people hard
people who break laws as a breakfast will do so without any hurdles

  • A strong and merciless action required in Punjab traffic violators especially bike riders as they are the worst drivers on road. Mostly people shifted from nearby villages and have no sense of driving. Very strong action and monitoring required to tamed the drivers

    • Fine for motor cyclists must be on higher side.chinchi loaders must be stopped without numbers plates and required documents to come on roads.
Hats off for merciless actions against motorcyclists.

    • Sir same goes for cars and all vehicles. They do not care for bikers. Changes line all of a sudden, apply brakes a d goes from high speed lane to exit suddenly and ko use of indicators and sometimes do not look in rear view mirror. Cars and buses and trucks when changes lines do not cares for smaller vehivlesSo action is required against all.

  • Despite all these restrictions, traffic, parking and driving behavior is still worst compared to whole world. Don’t know why people are unnecessarily in a vague Rush. Self responsibility is a must, means people should be abiding by traffic and parking rules by their own inner will and responsibility and caring attitude for others, which apparently seems like can’t be cultivated for the next 100 years. So ja apni nakam hasraton pay anso baha k so ja.

  • Bikers specially from Bika and Panda like services must be controlled with heavy fines as both are responsible for most of the traffic accidents.

  • Lanat ho is mulk k system pr jahan ghareeb ko do waqt ki roti mayasar Nahi, wahan tmam bojh ghareeb ki kamar par,,,Lagta hai is mulk ki har buraai Ka zimadar ghareeb hai Jo corrupt mafia apni ayashiyan Kam nhi kr rhay lakin ghareeb Ka khoon choose rahay hn

  • Instead of blaming all the fault to bikers because they are poor so everyone criticism on them . Because everyone cant efforts cars those who have cars can easy blame on the bikers instead of realizing that they only effort that. When the accident happened bike person can loose there life also and those who have cars can easily survive. Challans are good step but not imposed on too much strickness on bikers they cant effort it mostly have to fulfill there basic need on driving bikea service other then job .Realize others problems also and for cars yes there should be a stick policy on cars especially fancy number plates all over blue area and Islamabad.

  • Looks so fake when we see hundreds of cars with blacked out windows and unreadable number plates. And what these brave bureaucrats come up with? Fine the bikers

    • it’s so true
no one cares about tinted cars when they’re on fancy fortuners land cruisers or even buses
just fine a biker who takes helmet off to breath in harsh summers

  • Bike khara hota ha Aur uske indicators and mirrors log tor detay hain. Uske liye b rules ma kuch strict kren. Month ma itna kharcha bike maintenance ka nhi jitna mirrors aur indicators ka ha.
So government should look into this issue aur koi aisa rule bnaen ke agr ksi ke bacha aisa kren tu uske ghr walo ko paqra ja saqe
