Xiaomi is reportedly developing a smartphone equipped with a massive 9,000 mAh battery, according to a new report from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station. The device is also expected to support 100W fast charging, indicating a high-performance configuration focused on long-lasting power.
If accurate, this would place the phone among the highest-capacity smartphones on the market. Digital Chat Station also claims that Xiaomi is working on a separate 10,000 mAh battery prototype, though it’s unclear whether that version is intended for mass production or limited testing.
Some reports from Chinese sources suggest the phone in question could be the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5. However, recent leaks about that model mention a 7,500 mAh battery instead, casting doubt on whether the larger battery belongs to this specific device.
Historically, Xiaomi has released Chinese variants of phones with larger silicon-carbon batteries, only to reduce the battery capacity in models destined for global markets. Given this pattern, it remains uncertain whether the rumored 9,000 mAh version will be released internationally.
