Deadline Announced for Development in Two Islamabad Sectors

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa on Friday directed the engineering wing to complete development work in Sector C-14 by the end of next month and finish projects in Sector I-12 within three months.

During the meeting, Randhawa criticized officials from the engineering and land wings for failing to meet deadlines on sector development projects. Sources said he reprimanded some officers and warned that non-performance could lead to disciplinary action.

A CDA press release stated that the authority has formed a working group to accelerate development in ongoing sectors and another group to oversee the upgradation of old sectors. The initiative will cover infrastructure rehabilitation, horticulture, landscaping, and the provision of modern facilities.

Officials briefed the chairman on Sector C-14, reporting rapid progress on road infrastructure (TST), internal electrification, and horticulture along service roads. Randhawa instructed an accelerated completion of streetlights, drainage, sewerage, water supply, and electricity work.

Updates on other sectors included C-15, where earthwork and sub-base work on 17 roads is underway, and sub-sector 4 of E-12, where the tendering process for development work is nearing completion.
