A T-shirt printed with a black seatbelt design has gone viral in Pakistan after the launch of the new e-challan system in major cities.
The shirt, which gives the illusion of wearing a seatbelt, is making rounds on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Many users are posting pictures and videos of the shirt, calling it a “smart way” to avoid traffic fines.
The trend started soon after traffic police began issuing e-challans through surveillance cameras in cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Faisalabad. The new system automatically detects violations such as driving without a seatbelt, signal jumping, and using a mobile phone while driving.
In Karachi, traffic police recently issued dozens of e-challans to vehicles, including official cars, for not wearing seatbelts and breaking other traffic rules. The fines are directly sent to the vehicle owner’s registered address.
Given the unpredictable nature of the newly installed e-challan system and the huge fines for traffic violations imposed in major cities like Karachi, it is not surprising to see people looking for “desi totkas” to avoid getting a fine.

Esa hi Huna chahey, jab government apna mufad souchy gi tab awam beh active hu gye gi😂
When the leaders of the country don’t follow such a law of wearing seat belts, why should the public be bothered. Remember when Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the Supreme Court and he led his motorcade from Islamabad to Lahore on GT Road, did anyone notice that he sat in the front with his driver with both not wearing seat belts throughout the long trip.
Put the belt on instead of paying for TShirt or challan. You see, this what happens when you do too many cousin marriages.
How sad it would be for people around to witness if Allah forbid someone faces a fatal accident and he/she was found wearing such a mock T-shirt. No doubt that the fines are 10 to 20 folds higher than in other regions, but wearing a seat belt is purely for personal benefit. People who face an accident for the first time start wearing seat belts for their entire life. And there are people who face accidents 10s of times and do not learn from their mistakes. In the whole world, these systems are in place. And no one denies the poor state of infrastructure in which these hefty fines are being introduced in Karachi, however, its even more beneficial to wear seat belts and helmets and driving within safe speed limits and avoiding breaking signals and going wrong ways where the masses are contributing to a chaotic traffic mess. The ones who follow the rules and keep their patience would face less fines as well as less accidents insha Allah.
Such t – shirts are not dangerous. Seat belts are a safety measure for the commuter. Please don’t make fun of it and abide by law. I wish safe and happy journey for all.
After bikers wearing helmets on their arms (to avoid elbow injuries?) or putting the helmets on the fuel tank or on the guard rods (to pretect them from dents and scratches, probably), ladies and gentlemen, I present you seat belt t-shirts.
These t-shirts help you avoid fines and also save your car from getting devalued just because the airbags were inflated. 😬
Don’t have any shame, despite of this big religious beared,to violation the law you provide public a fraudulent way to disobey the law ,law enforcement will soon update your distorted software
Well , l am proud and annoyed of our Awams injunity and making every situation laughable
Dont worry AI is alot smarter than you think. I truly dont believe that challans can be avoided wearing this t-shirt, but even if it is being avoided, soon the AI software will be upgraded and it will catch you with or without the t-shirt.
I hope we could deploy such AI in other systems to catch corrupt politicians, judges, Generals & police officials
It’s better to wear the seat belt rather wearing that t shirt..Its for safety of u and ur family..don’t forget your family is waiting for you at home..
Police needs to be empowered. Enforce the law without any mercy. About time this nation learns some ethics and rule of law.
Interesting :) . Not a bad idea. But to be secure and safe in driving is yours civic sense. The more you will follow traffic rules the more well mannered will be yours life on road.
Just imagine an idiot who is wearing a T-shirt on top of Kurta shalwar just because he don’t want to fasten seatbelt.
It’s about time that we as Pakistanis become more literate, learn to be more disciplined, patient and cautious about learning to stick by all rules and regulations. Citizens must abide by government regulations whose responsibility it is to enforce laws for regulation of law abiding citizens. Violators of laws are not law abiding citizens and should obviously, be punished as per laws that are violated.
That’s correct but an idiot has introduced a t.shirt to wear so can violet the law.he has big religious beared, looks religious but sick mentality as well
Pakistani awam itni jahil hai k safety ko chor kr jugad dhund lete hein
I suggest double challan on such findings
A person who is hell bent NOT to wear seat belt to such an absurd extent, is not at all making fun of the law; he is playing with his own life and pays shit to his obligations towards his family and kids! He will surely get killed some day. Don’t make such T-shirts guys.
Shameful, who are playing with there lives.
You can buy and wear a new T-shirt but can’t wear a seatbelt that can actually save your life? Funny how we invest in looking smart instead of being safe. Seatbelts save lives, not just fines.
