The Balochistan government has imposed a complete ban on pillion riding across the province under Section 144, which will remain in effect until November 30, ARY News reported on Monday.
According to the official notification, women and children are exempt from the restriction. This marks the second notification in five days extending prohibitory measures under Section 144.
The provincial government also banned the covering of faces in public, the use of mufflers and masks, and the transportation of explosive materials and sulfuric acid. Officials said the latest directives were issued after amending the November 5 notification.
Authorities stated that the restrictions aim to maintain public safety and law and order amid heightened security concerns.
Meanwhile, in a similar move, the Punjab government extended Section 144 across the province for another seven days, maintaining a ban on protests, rallies, sit-ins, and public gatherings until November 15.
The Punjab Home Department said the decision was taken to prevent potential unrest and protect citizens, noting that the restrictions do not apply to wedding ceremonies, funerals, official duties, or court proceedings.
