The Planning and Development (P&D) Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convened a Project Steering Committee meeting on Tuesday to discuss the rollout of electric rickshaws (e-rickshaws) in the provincial capital.
The meeting, chaired by P&D Secretary Adeel Shah, reviewed the current progress of the initiative and outlined steps for its effective implementation.
Committee members and stakeholders held detailed discussions on key aspects of the project, including projected benefits, required infrastructure upgrades, and the finalization of a comprehensive implementation strategy.
Officials highlighted that introducing e-rickshaws will provide Peshawar residents with a clean, efficient, and sustainable mode of transport. The project aims to reduce air pollution while promoting environmentally friendly urban mobility.
The session saw participation from officials representing the P&D Department, the Transport Department, and other relevant government bodies.
