Google Photos Just Received Multiple Major Nano Banana Upgrades

Google is bringing its Nano Banana AI technology, which has already seen strong adoption with Gemini, to Google Photos. This update enables users to describe the edits they want directly within the app. By selecting “Help me edit” in the editor, users can now instruct Nano Banana on specific changes to make to any photo, making photo editing easier than ever.

AI Templates

Alongside this, Google Photos is launching a new “Create with AI” section. This area features ready-made AI-powered templates that allow users to enhance photos without creating their own prompts. These templates are powered by Nano Banana and are rolling out this week in the United States and India.

Google also plans to introduce personalized templates in the US in the coming weeks. These will use information from a user’s photo gallery to offer edits tailored to individual hobbies and experiences, according to the company.

Ask Photos

Ask Photos, the AI tool that lets users search their gallery and find images using natural language, is expanding to more than 100 additional countries and regions, and now supports 17 new languages. The tool is still unavailable in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

A new Ask button is also being introduced, allowing users to get immediate answers about the contents of their photos. In addition, the redesigned photo editor, including the option to describe desired edits, is now available on iOS devices in the US. These updates continue Google’s efforts to make photo editing and organization more intuitive through advanced AI.
