The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed the Model City Housing Society in Khushab for repeatedly violating the Punjab Sales Tax Act, 2012.
According to a PRA spokesperson, the authority has initiated a large-scale operation against businesses and housing societies that have failed to pay their sales tax dues. A comprehensive report on the operation has already been submitted to senior officials.
PRA Commissioner Rai Naveed Ahmed Kharal said the crackdown on tax defaulters is ongoing, emphasizing the department’s zero-tolerance policy toward non-compliance.
He urged all defaulters, especially those who have been served tax notices, to settle their outstanding liabilities within the given deadline, warning that failure to do so will lead to strict legal and administrative action.
In other related news, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) ordered the immediate cancellation of all unauthorized allotments and sales in the University Town Housing Scheme, directing strict implementation of development regulations.
The RDA has also demanded a detailed enforcement report within seven days and directed the developer to refund all illegally collected amounts, including extra charges, within 60 days.
The scheme has been instructed to hand over plots to eligible allottees or provide equivalent alternatives where necessary. The RDA warned that failure to comply will result in legal action without further notice.
