Only 40% of Students Pass Karachi’s Annual Board Exams

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has released the results for the Intermediate Part-I Commerce (Regular) Annual Examinations 2025, revealing that only 40% of students passed all seven papers.

Controller of Examinations Zarina Rashid reported that 26,774 students were enrolled for the exams, and 25,907 actually sat for them. Of those, 10,399 candidates cleared all seven papers. The rest passed between one and six papers.

The results further show that 3,293 students passed six papers, 3,213 cleared five, and 2,572 passed four papers. Another 2,280 students managed to clear three papers, 1,732 passed two, while 1,510 students succeeded in just one paper.

Released on Thursday, the results outline the performance of first-year commerce students from colleges across Karachi. BIEK officials noted that the outcome reflects both the difficulties faced by students and the progress made as they move toward completing their intermediate education.
