CDA Issues Eviction Notice to Residents of Illegal Settlements in Malpur

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared the Malpur settlement illegal and issued an eviction notice to residents, directing them to vacate the area within the stipulated time. According to the authority, both sides of the Malpur locality fall under unlawful occupation and must be cleared immediately.

CDA officials stated that if residents fail to vacate the illegal structures within the given timeframe, the authority will deploy heavy machinery to demolish the encroachments. The notice further warns that those found guilty of contempt of court for resisting the operation could face up to one year in imprisonment along with fines amounting to millions of rupees.

The eviction notice has been issued by the CDA Deputy Commissioner and Senior Special Magistrate, who emphasized the urgency of clearing the illegal settlements. The authority reiterated that all unlawful constructions in the area would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.

CDA has clarified that, along with the illegal settlement of Bari Imam, the Malpur locality will also be cleared. The operations, according to officials, are part of the authority’s broader initiative to remove encroachments from key areas of Islamabad.

Last week, CDA launched a major anti-encroachment operation in Bari Imam where dozens of structures were demolished. The authority maintains that similar actions will continue until all illegal constructions in the federal capital are fully removed.
