Officials said the decision aims to prevent any untoward situation during election activities. The by-election in NA-18 will take place on November 23, and the district authorities directed schools to suspend classes for public safety and smooth election arrangements.
Meanwhile, several regions across the country are preparing for winter breaks. In Balochistan’s cold districts, government schools will close for two and a half months starting December 16. Students in these areas will receive an extended winter vacation due to harsh weather conditions.
In Punjab, winter vacations will begin on December 23, 2025, and continue until January 11, 2026. Schools across the province will reopen on January 12, 2026.
