Punjab Crime Control Dept Purchases New Luxury Cars Like Land Cruisers for Rs. 1 Billion

The Crime Control Department (CCD) is set to receive a major operational boost as the Punjab Police continues supplying new vehicles to strengthen the force’s mobility and field readiness, officials told 24NewsHD on Saturday.

According to police officials, 118 new vehicles, including luxury cars, single-cabin and double-cabin pickups, have been purchased from the Rs. 1 billion allocation for the ongoing financial year.

The new fleet includes 10 Land Cruisers for senior CCD officers, eight double-cabin, and 100 single-cabin vehicles.

Officials said the provision of new cars will be completed by January, after which the previously used vehicles will be returned to their respective districts and units.

They added that a large number of vehicles had also been procured for the CCD during the previous fiscal year, and the new vehicles will be made bulletproof in phases to enhance operational safety.
