Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to receive expanded passport services, as the Directorate General of Passports moves forward with plans to open new counters in several underserved areas of the province.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi reviewed the upcoming facilities during a meeting with Director General of Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi in Islamabad on Monday.
During the meeting, the DG informed the governor that new passport counters will soon be established in Paharpur, Panyala, and Dargai. He also shared updates on administrative arrangements and preparations for these facilities.
Governor Kundi said the new counters will bring passport services closer to people’s homes, reducing the expense and hardship of long-distance travel—particularly for those living in remote areas.
He added that residents traveling for Umrah, overseas employment, or personal reasons will benefit from the improved access. Both sides agreed that Governor Kundi will inaugurate the new counters once the facilities are ready for public use.
