ATV Fires All Employees on Court Order

ATV channel’s operator Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company Limited (SRBC), which is owned by the government of Pakistan, has formally announced the end of services of all employees as part of court-supervised liquidation proceedings ordered by the Islamabad High Court.

According to an official office order issued on 24 November 2025, the liquidation requires all categories of personnel to be released by the close of business on 30 November 2025. The directive applies to regular, contractual, deputed, temporary, daily-wage, broadcast resource persons, and individuals holding officiating or additional charges, as well as those currently on leave.

The order requires all outgoing employees to submit a written work-status and task-completion report, hand over official files, documents, passwords, assets, media storage devices, and other operational materials by 28 November. Functional handovers have been assigned to designated focal persons across administrative, finance, engineering, technical, and station management roles.

Employees must also submit clearance acknowledgments, bank details, CNIC copies, and updated contact information to the Administration Office.

The document states that all financial dues, including gratuity (where applicable), leave encashment, pending salary differences, and other claims, will be calculated in accordance with SRBC service rules and applicable laws. Payments will be processed subject to the availability of liquidation funds and in line with priorities approved by the Islamabad High Court.

The notice emphasizes that the cessation of services is purely a court-mandated liquidation requirement and does not amount to disciplinary action or punitive termination.

The order has been signed by Muhammad Atif Saeed on behalf of Khilji Rahat Waheed, Chartered Accountants, acting as the Official Liquidators of SRBC.

Copies of the directive have been circulated to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, PTVC, PBC, PNCA, and SRBC’s notice board.

  • Govt hospitals, schools and colleges are getting privatised, multinationals are leaving, internets choked, skyrocketing bills, and now this!!! seems Govt is committed to making life a living hell for ordinary and common Pakistani….great, lets push this country down the ruin once and for all….

  • Whenever Govt. disrupts income streams, it is responsible to provide other opportunity in parallel to the effectees.

For example, if carts are not allowed in bazars, Govt should specify places where they are allowed. If an illegal housing is displaced, Govt. should provide easy loans. People fired can be adjusted in various empty vacancies of the GoP, where work is suffering due to shortage of manpower.
