Xiaomi’s New Ultra-Durable Smartwatch Can Last Up to an Impressive 1.5 Months

Black Shark, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has expanded its wearable lineup with the introduction of the GS3 Ultra, a rugged successor to the GS3 launched more than a year ago. The new model brings a reinforced design, upgraded durability, and improved tracking features.

The Black Shark GS3 Ultra features a reinforced metal frame and includes four mechanical-style buttons for easier control during outdoor use. It comes with a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display offering 466×466 resolution, 1,000 nits brightness, and support for 16.7 million colors. The screen is protected by 9H Gorilla Glass and includes 270 watch faces.

The smartwatch carries MIL-STD-810 certification, 5ATM water resistance, and an IP69K rating, positioning it as a durable option for harsh environments. The Black Shark GS3 Ultra will be available in silver and black.

The GS3 Ultra supports over 160 sports modes, and it can automatically detect activities such as walking, running, elliptical workouts, and rowing. It can also track heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress, and sleep. For sleep tracking, the watch monitors Deep Sleep, Light Sleep, REM, and Awake phases, and it can detect afternoon naps.

For navigation, the GS3 Ultra features dual-band (L1 + L5) GPS and supports BeiDou, GLONASS, NavIC, and Galileo. The smartwatch also includes ENC for users who want to answer calls directly from the device.

Black Shark says the GS3 Ultra uses high-density batteries that deliver up to 18 days of usage on a single charge, and up to 45 days in Ultra-Long Standby mode. The company has not yet announced pricing or availability details.
