Samsung’s New Feature Will Help You Find Missing Luggage at Airports

Samsung has announced a new partnership with Turkish Airlines to help travelers locate lost or delayed luggage using SmartThings Find. The collaboration introduces the Smart Tagged Baggage Service, which integrates Samsung’s tracking platform with the airline’s luggage management system.

How the Service Works

Passengers can place a Galaxy SmartTag inside their luggage before traveling. If a bag is lost or delayed, the traveler can include a link with the SmartTag’s location data in their Turkish Airlines lost luggage report, allowing the airline to view real-time tracking information.

Samsung says travelers can also use the Change Device Image feature in the SmartThings Find menu to upload a photo of their actual bag. This helps staff identify the luggage more quickly during recovery.

SmartThings Find relies on Bluetooth Low Energy and ultra-wideband technology, supported by a network of more than 700 million Galaxy devices. This allows the system to locate items efficiently even when they are out of direct Bluetooth range.

Samsung also confirmed that it plans to expand the Smart Tagged Baggage Service through partnerships with additional airlines.
