The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab has approved the construction of a European-style paragliding club on the summit of Chevra in Kotli Sattian.
Officials describe the project as an “aerial swimming” facility that will anchor new tourism activity in the area. The government has released Rs. 206 million for the initiative.
The development plan includes gliding pods, a tree house, a paragliding equipment store, a kitchen, a café, tuck shops, a parking area, a jogging track, selfie points, washrooms, benches, a restaurant, and a waiting room.
TDCP has scheduled tenders for December 16 and will award the contract the same day. The department will begin implementation on January 1, 2026. It will complete construction on December 31, 2026.
Officials expect the site to open fully between January 10 and 15, 2027. A cultural festival will mark the inauguration, and TDCP will invite residents from across the Potohar region.
The paragliding zone will offer visitors telescope-assisted views of Rawal Dam, Mangla Dam, and the Line of Control. The mountains of Kotli Sattian rise higher than Murree and feature rugged black rock formations mixed with areas rich in wildflowers, plants, and tall trees.
TDCP will construct a two-lane approach road from the Kotli Sattian–Murree Road to improve access. The plan includes ornamental lighting and large-scale planting of fruit trees along the route.
Additional plantation, including flowers, shrubs, and trees, will also take place throughout the paragliding zone.
